A wedding is shaped by more than the ceremony or the planned moments of the day. It is also found in the relationships, expressions, conversations and small exchanges that happen between the people who have gathered to celebrate with you.

My approach to wedding photography is documentary in style. I want the photographs to feel natural, personal and true to your day. I will capture the important moments, while also paying attention to what is happening around them, the anticipation beforehand, the people arriving, the laughter, the emotion and the quieter moments that can easily pass unnoticed.

The relationships I build with you and your guests are an important part of this work. I approach people warmly and respectfully, helping them feel at ease without forcing moments or interrupting the flow of the celebration. This allows me to photograph people as they are and create images that feel genuine rather than overly staged.

I will offer direction when it is helpful, particularly for portraits and group photographs, while leaving space for the day to unfold naturally.

After the wedding, you will receive a carefully edited online gallery of high-resolution photographs that can be downloaded, shared and preserved. Prints, albums and photo books are also available.

Wedding photography begins at $1,000 for intimate celebrations and short coverage. Half-day coverage begins at $2,000, with full-day services available from $2,900.

Event Photography

Capturing the relationships, atmosphere, and moments that bring people together.

With my documentary-style approach, I capture the energy and character of an event in a way that feels authentic and true to life.

For me, strong event photography is built on relationships. It comes from taking the time to understand what matters to my clients, while also knowing how to approach the people around me with warmth, respect and genuine interest. When guests feel comfortable with my presence, I am better able to photograph the natural interactions, expressions and moments that give an event its meaning.

Whether you are planning a charity event, corporate function, community gathering, performance or celebration, I will work with you to understand your priorities and create photography coverage that reflects the occasion.

On the day of the event, I work attentively and as unobtrusively as possible. I follow the flow of the gathering, respond to the people and atmosphere around me, and capture both the central moments and the quieter interactions happening alongside them.

I aim to create a complete visual record that reflects the atmosphere, emotion and energy of the event in a way that feels honest to the people who were there.

After the event, you will receive a carefully edited collection of high-quality photographs that can be used for social media, websites, reports, marketing materials, promotion or personal keepsakes. Prints and photo books are also available.

Event photography begins at $600 for shorter gatherings. Half-day coverage begins at $1,000, with full-day and multi-day assignments quoted according to the event’s schedule and location.

People & Families

Natural portraits that reflect the people you love and the relationships you share.

Portrait sessions are designed to feel relaxed and natural, with time to settle in and become comfortable in front of the camera.

I photograph individuals, couples and families at home, outdoors or in another place that feels familiar. My approach is gently documentary, allowing room for natural interaction while offering direction when it is helpful.

Rather than relying on fixed poses, I pay attention to expression, personality and the ways people respond to one another, creating photographs that reflect the personalities and relationships in front of me.

After the session, you will receive a private online gallery to view and share, along with a memory stick containing your full-resolution photographs. Professional prints, enlargements and photo books are available to order at an additional cost.

Portrait sessions begin at $450. Extended-family sessions, multiple locations and travel outside the Nanaimo area are quoted separately. Prints and other finished products are available at an additional cost.
